From the very beginning Natasha, who plays lead role Ms Johnstone, had me hooked on the story with her amazing acting and even more amazing singing, especially when she sang the finale song 'Tell Me It's Not True' which left me with a tear in my eye! Stephen, who plays Mickey Johnstone, plays a very convincing almost 8 year old and an even better young adult.
All in all, an amazing musical with an amazing cast! GO SEE IT!!!!!

Thor was much much better than I expected. I didn't know if they could pull of the balance between the Norse mythology stuff and the real world Marvel Universe. I should've known better because Marvel knows their characters and knows what we want to see. Spider-Man set a new standard for the superhero film genre back in the day. Iron Man upped the ante. Thor takes the ball and runs with it and places that bar even higher. I look forward to seeing it again and know it will do well enough to be worthy of a sequel because word of mouth is going to be great. Trust me when I say Thor REALLY IS as good as Iron Man and is most worthy to be called one of the greatest adaptations ever.

Chris Hemsworth as the Norse god Thor, and Tom Hiddleston as his villainous brother Loki show they have the acting ability and star quality to become mega-marquee names in the future. Marvel found two absolute diamonds in the rough. Both actors make a HUGE impression and are wonderful on screen. You knew Acedemy Award winners Anthony Hopkins and Natalie Portman would bring it but these relative unkowns more than hold their own on screen. I know the script is written mostly for them but they carry it in a big way. From what I've read, Hemsworth and Hiddleston were cast almost a year in advance of filming the story so, they had time to get into shape and do character research. They certain did these long-time Marvel greats proud. Intelligent comic-book popcorn epics are rare and this one is definitely a cut above the usual fare.

Hallmark Hall of Fame's Beyond the Blackboard (which was previously titled Let Them Shine) aired last night, April 24, 2011, and I and no doubt millions of other people enjoyed it. Starring Emily VanCamp, Timothy Busfield and Treat Williams, it follows a true story from a book titled Nobody Don't Love Nobody by Stacey Bess.

Set in 1987 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Beyond the Blackboard tells the story a brand-new teacher and Mom who is given a tougher than expected teaching job and winds up teaching homeless CHILDREN in a school that is housed in a single room in a dilapidated warehouse and called THE SCHOOL WITH NO NAME. She has some personal prejudicial hurdles to cross before she is able to be a true teacher for these children and of course there are unexpected hurdles like the facts that this school has no desks, books or supplies.
Hallmark movie fans who do NOT have the Hallmark Channel were lucky because Beyond the Blackboard premiered as Hallmark's 243rd presentation on CBS rather than Hallmark's own channel. Meaning those without the specialty channel could tune in and watch. However, if you missed watching it on CBS and are now wondering where and when you will be able to watch it or you simply enjoyed it so much that you want to own it, I am pleased to tell you that you can already buy a copy on DVD. Backgrounder for Sam Axe, our much adored side kick to Michael Weston. Totally in character, well laid out. Even answers the oft spoken question of from where the name 'Chuck Finley', Sam's alter ego, arises. Hokey special effects, less than strict attention to detail as to military rank, uniforms, and protocols. Yet, enjoyable all the same. Should be released as a DVD copy, especially with outtakes and bloopers. Written by Matt Nix, so we get the delicious inside jokes and humor we know from Burn Notice. Good direction by Jeff Donovan, plus his appearance is an appealing portion of foreshadowing. It would be nice to have similar retro looks at Michael and Fiona's beginnings.

Soul Surfer is a well produced film, that leans heavily on it's soul-lifting story, stellar acting and a rocking soundtrack on a moderate budget. It's encouraging to see such big Hollywood names doing such inspirational family fare without the inflated-sized salary demands.

However, folks looking for The Hangover with this film will be sorely disappointed, but if you think of it as Planes, Trains and Automobiles mixed with the sarcastic timing of The Hangover and drench it in the dark comedy of Observe and Report you may have an idea of what to expect. Sticklers for detail might have been confused by the opening of William and Kate – the Movie (Channel 5, Sunday), when Prince William’s arrival at St Andrews was introduced by an aerial shot of Christ Church, Oxford. But then, sticklers for detail were never likely to be satisfied by an 87-minute TV movie about the Royal family made for the Lifetime cable network in the US.

This was a St Andrews which its students called ‘school’, where they lived in ‘dorms’. These were rooms with so much dark wood panelling and so many Tudor beams that it would have been no surprise to see Diana Dors pop out in full Hammer Horror costume. And while this movie was ‘based on true events’, it certainly wasn’t based on true hairdos or soft furnishings.

Whenever I ride on my boyfriend’s car, I used to remind him to slow down because he’s really getting into my nerves when he is driving too fast. Imagine, he usually fools around and he speeds up the minimum speed limit. My heart’s pounding and beating too fast whenever that happens and he just laughs at me.
